Sped Parent Advisory Group

As a parent of a child receiving special education services in our district, you are invited to join the EHC Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG).

A SEPAG is a state-mandated, district-level group for parents that provides direct input on special education policies, programs, and services. An effective SEPAG strengthens the partnership between families and the school district by offering a space for collaborative problem-solving and open communication.

Through your involvement, the SEPAG can:

  • Create Positive Relationships: Engage with parents, school leaders, teachers, and Child Study Teams to establish shared goals and priorities.

  • Provide a Parent Perspective: While individual advocacy is vital, the SEPAG focuses on systemic issues that impact multiple students and families, helping to shape policy and services for the entire special education community.

  • Share Information: Act as a trusted source for sharing information about programs, professional development, and other resources between the district and families.

  • Improve Services: Offer valuable input that leads to more effective resource allocation and programs that are responsive to the needs of the school community.

We encourage you to join us in this important work to improve outcomes for all students receiving special education services.
